FAQ

How do I capture a task?

Open Capture from the Today screen FAB, type a note, use Talk to Me for voice, or share a screenshot from another app via the Share Extension.

Does Nowlist have an Inbox?

No. Capture is always explicit. You review AI-suggested tasks once at save time, then they appear on Today.

Which languages does voice capture support?

English, Vietnamese, and mixed speech. Choose your dictation engine in Profile → Dictation (Apple on-device, WhisperKit, or cloud on a physical device).

Do I need an account?

No. Nowlist is local-first. Tasks are stored on your device with SwiftData. There is no sync across devices.

How does cloud AI work?

Cloud speech and extraction are optional and available on a physical iOS device. Requests go through our secure proxy — you do not add an API key. Without cloud, use on-device Apple or WhisperKit engines.

Why is cloud dictation unavailable in the Simulator?

Cloud features use Apple App Attest, which requires a physical device with a Secure Enclave. Use Apple or WhisperKit on the Simulator instead.

How do I use the widget?

Add the Nowlist widget from the Home Screen editor. Small and medium sizes show open Today tasks at a glance; tap a row to open the app on Today.

How do I snooze or complete a task?

From Today, swipe or use row actions to complete, snooze, edit, or delete.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual tasks in the app, or uninstall Nowlist to remove all local app data from your device.
